Storytelling changes the world...

Shaun's TEDxChapmanU talk enlightens us all about the importance and urgency of taking care of the world's oceans. Through storytelling in his IMAX films, he combats ignorance and inspires us to do our part in taking care of the environment.

Shaun MacGillivray is the Producer and Managing Director of MacGillivray Freeman Films, the film company that has created the top 10 highest grossing IMAX films in history, including Everest, To Fly, and The Living Sea. Shaun is also heading up the company's One World One Ocean campaign, a multi-year, multi-platform ocean media initiative aimed at restoring the world's oceans.  He is currently producing the company's forthcoming IMAX films, To The Arctic 3D, Everest: Conquering Thin Air 3D, and One Word One Ocean 3D, and most recently produced the award-winning Grand Canyon Adventure 3D. The son of Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Greg MacGillivray, Shaun grew up on film locations all around the world. Shaun graduated Magna Cum Laude from Emory University with a degree in economics, then went on to receive a graduate MFA degree in Film Production from the University of Southern California. In addition to IMAX films, MacGillivray Freeman also creates feature films, tv shows, online films, social media campaigns and educational outreach.
